Monica Josette

Monica Josette is the founder and curator of “The Magic of Movement Workshop and Retreat!” The Magic of Movement integrates moving meditation, mindfulness, and dance as a vehicle for improved mobility and overall wellness.

Monica is a 20 year veteran of the entertainment and theater industry and has honed her art, skill set, and research into a healing practice designed for everyone! She is currently pursuing her Somatic Breath Work Certification, Dance Therapy Research, and Curating “The Magic of Movement Retreat Experience!”

Monica is a native Houstonian graduating from The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Modern Dance Pedagogy from The University of Oklahoma and her talents took her to New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles before returning home to Houston. Monica has impressive tv/film IMDB credits as a Unit Production Manager, a Second Unit Director and an Assistant Director during her years in Los Angeles. She is proud to have toured with several recording artists including Santigold, Kelly Rowland, Coldplay, Kanye West, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, to name a few. A true international artist Monica has performed in over 40 countries in her years as a professional.

Monica is a successful Director/Choreographer/Actress whose show credits include “Aida,” “Hot Mikado,” “Ain’t Misbehavin,” “Dreamgirls,” “Single Black Female,” “Runaways,” “Secrets of My Success,” and currently she is the Choreographer for the upcoming production of “RENT” at Houston’s Theater Under The Stars!
